Drone with payload capacity of 1,500 kilograms flew for the first time

The Kizilelma unmanned combat aircraft, a transport-capable drone, had its historic maiden flight on December 14.

The Turkey-based company Baykar created this ambitious project. “Our 20-year dream in our national drone adventure has come true today,” said Baykar technical director Selcuk Bayraktar.

The characteristics of the Kizilelma are:
👉 Powered by a single Ukrainian-designed Ivchenko-Progress turbofan engine.
👉 The Kizilelma is expected to have a payload capacity of 1,500 kilograms.
👉 It will be able to carry out air-to-ground and air-to-air missions.
👉 It has been designed to land and take off on short tracks.
👉It should operate from the amphibious assault ship TCG Anadolu, which is currently undergoing cruise trials.
