The Art of Safe Space Shuttle landings

🧱 “Flying a brick” was often used to describe piloting the Space Shuttle during its descent and landing.

The Space Shuttle had a very low 🛩️ lift-to-drag ratio, making its aerodynamic properties much less efficient than conventional aircraft.

This made the descent steep and fast, requiring skillful piloting to land safely. No engines operational at that stage, so only 🙈 1 chance to land.
